“I loved it! I’m a sadist and tomboy,” Headey said, smiling. “The sad thing was when it was over we all went” — and she made a deflating sound, like a balloon losing its air.
“She loses the love of her life” — Butler’s Leonidas — “and there is nothing to be done except avenge him. For her it’s pretty straightforward. There’s nowhere else to go.”
Headey shrugged, “I just think there’s no science to it. If you play a mother losing a son, there’s something at stake and you don’t have to write every word down.” Headey herself has a son, about to turn 4.
